The milestone follows a substantial transfer of shares from her father, Shiv Nadar, making her the majority stakeholder in HCL Tech.
Shiv Nadar Transfers 47% Stake to Roshni Nadar Shiv Nadar, the visionary founder of HCL Technologies, has transferred a significant 47% stake in two key promoter entities—Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi) and HCL Corporation—to his daughter, Roshni Nadar Malhotra.
With this transfer, Roshni now holds a controlling 57.33% stake, while Shiv Nadar’s ownership has reduced to 4%. Roshni Nadar Now 3rd Richest in India According to the Bloomberg Billionaires India List, Roshni Nadar Malhotra has also secured the third position among India’s wealthiest individuals, surpassing her father.
With a net worth of $35.9 billion, she follows Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani ($88.1 billion) and Adani Group’s Gautam Adani ($68.9 billion) in the rankings.
HCL Technologies’ Promoter HoldingsFollowing the stake transfer, Roshni Nadar has solidified her control over HCLTech, with Vama Sundari Investments and HCL Corporation collectively holding a 44.34% stake in the company as of December 2024. The transfer was officially recorded through a regulatory filing on March 6, 2025.
